Basic Water Safety and Skills

Class Description

This class is to familiarize young children to the water and prepare them to learn to swim in American Red Cross Preschool Aquatics and Learn-to-Swim courses. It is not designed to teach children to become good swimmers or to survive in the water on their own. An adult must get in the pool with the child.

Location:  E Moore Hall Pool

Session 1 

Fee:  $50 per session

Class 1 (Ages 6-18 months):  Saturdays, 9-9:30 a.m., Jan. 12 - Feb. 9 (5 classes, weather cancellation makeup on Feb. 16)

Class 2 (Ages 6-18 months):  Saturdays, 9:35-10:05 a.m., Jan. 12 - Feb. 9 (5 classes, weather cancellation makeup on Feb. 16)

Class 3 (Ages 19-35 months):  Saturdays, 10:10-10:40 a.m.,  Jan. 12 - Feb. 9 (5 classes, weather cancellation makeup on Feb. 16)

Class 4 (Ages 19-35 months):  Saturdays, 10:45-11:15 a.m., Jan. 12 - Feb. 9 (5 classes, weather cancellation makeup on Feb. 16)

Session 2

Fee:  $60 per session

Class 5 (Ages 6-18 months):  Saturdays, 9-9:30 a.m.,  Feb. 23-April 13 (6 classes, No class March 9,16)

Class 6 (Ages 6-18 months):  Saturdays, 9:35-10:05 a.m.,  Feb. 23-April 13 (6 classes, No class March 9,16) **Filled**

Class 7 (Ages 19-35 months):  Saturdays, 10:10-10:40 a.m.,  Feb. 23-April 13 (6 classes, No class March 9,16)  **Filled**

Class 8 (Ages 19-35 months):  Saturdays, 10:45-11:15 a.m.,  Feb. 23-April 13 (6 classes, No class March 9,16)

Additional Information

Note: Six (6) or more participants must enroll within 24 hours of first Session date or class will be canceled.  

Your credit card payment will list as WVSTO-eGov on your account statement.

Entrance to the EMH pool is a side door located along the right hand side of the building (through black garden gates). 

Children who are not potty trained must wear a swim diaper underneath their bathing suits.  Adults should wear bathing suite/swim trunks. Children may bring swim goggles if desired, and all other equipment will be provided.

You may bring a towel and change of clothes to classes/lessons. Locker rooms are available for changing before and after class.
