Beginning Tae Kwon Do involves the introduction of basic forms, four basic kicks and one step-sparring, which is our basic self-defense technique. Once these moves are memorized and mastered the student will be ready to test for yellow belt.

Toney Artice is a 7th degree Black Belt. He is the highest ranking master in World Tae Kwon Do Chung Do Kwan. Toney has been an instructor at West Virginia University for more than 30 years, teaching thousands of students, with hundreds of students acquiring black belts under his instruction.
Carl Stafford, a senior at WVU, started boxing in the eighth grade. He began practicing martial arts at WVU as a freshman under the instruction of Toney Artice. Carl is currently a Brown Belt in Tae Kwon Do and is eligible to test for his Black Belt in April 2018. He has been a TA under Toney Artice for the past year and mentors his fellow students in the WVU Martial Art programs.
