Individuals will continue to develop gross motor skills and general athletic skills. Basic techniques will be introduced for ground strokes, volleys, and serves. Individuals will learn basic footwork while tracking a ball. Emphasis is placed on developing self and partner rallying skills, understanding the rules and scoring.

Sofia Espana Perez
Sofia has been playing tennis since she was seven years old. She is from Mexico
and came to the US to study and play tennis. She graduated in 2014 from East Tennessee
State University with a Bachelors in Psychology. She spent 1 year working at the
Houston Country Club giving tennis lessons to people of all ages and ability levels.
After that she went to Minnesota State University where she was the head coach
of the varsity Women’s Tennis team, and was able to complete her Masters degree
in Sport and Exercise Psychology (May 2017). This is Sofia’s first year in West
Virginia and she is a student in the Sport and Exercise Psychology Doctorate program.
She is looking forward to meeting people that want to learn, practice, and play
