Lifeguard Recertification

Class Description

Renew your lifeguard certification with this review course. Participants should have a current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification with knowledge and skills learned to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. This class is designed to review information learned in the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, including CPR/AED and First Aid.  You will need to demonstrate and pass all sections of the class in order to renew your certifications.  All certifications are good for 2 years.

Prerequisites

  • Must provide proof of Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
  • Swim 300 yards without stopping (front crawl; breaststroke)
  • Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds.  Starting in the water, swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 7–10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
