Class Description

Emergency Care and Safety Institute Wilderness First Aid Standard Level Course (16 hours)

This 2-day introduction course will prepare participants with knowledge and skills to deal with medical emergencies in remote settings. The class is ideal for trip leaders, camp counselors, or any outdoor enthusiast. The class consists of on-line learning, classroom lecture and practical hands-on training. Some of the topics discussed will cover heat and cold emergencies, snake bites, diabetic emergencies, bone and joint injuries, wound care, and CPR basics.

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive certification from the Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ECSI). This nationally accepted certification is good for 2 years, and recognized by the Boy Scouts of America.
